The story that brought us together
Cristina and the path to hope
It all began with Cristina, daughter of founder Daniela-Liliana Călin, diagnosed with spastic tetraparesis. Years of struggle, therapy, sleepless nights, and unanswered questions showed us how alone parents and adults with severe disabilities can feel when the system cannot keep up with their real needs.
We discovered we were not alone. Thousands of families in Romania live the same fight: limited access to rehabilitation, insufficient adapted housing, too few protected workplaces, and a society that sometimes views difference with fear rather than openness.
From that pain, SPAD-CF was born — Support for Adults with Disabilities – Călin Foundation. We do not want pity; we want opportunity. We want every adult with disabilities to have access to treatment, support, and a community that sees them as fully human. Your donation can turn "it cannot be done" into "we did it."
Our mission
We build bridges between the real needs of adults with severe disabilities and the resources that can change their lives: recovery programmes, family support, social inclusion, and advocacy for rights that should not have to be fought for from scratch every time.
